 Evylena (Dailey) Vaughan
Memorials: A local humane society of your choice or M.A.D.D.  https://madd.org/

Evylena Virginia (Dailey) Vaughan, age 97, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 74 years, Jevne, and her cherished grandson, Eric Fischer.  Evylena, affectionately known as Evy, will be lovingly remembered by her children, Craig (Marjorie) Vaughan, Robyn Bishop, and Karen (Lou) Barfield; her grandchildren, Alexandra Fischer, Kyle Bishop, Sam Barfield, Jimmy (Amber) Whitmer, Erin (Paul) Cook; and her ten great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.  Evy grew up in Grand Rapids and graduated from Godwin High School, where she likely honed her skills in both academics and mischief. She met her match in Jevne in 1949, and together they became the dynamic duo of Ev and Jev. While raising her family, Evy also enjoyed part-time work, where her love for numbers and her social butterfly nature shone brightly.  An avid bowler, Evy often outscored Jev, much to his chagrin! She took up golf in her 40s and quickly fell in love with the sport, proving that age is just a number when it comes to having fun. Her first conversion van, affectionately dubbed “Evy’s Chevy,” became the vehicle for countless adventures to Myrtle Beach with her girlfriends, filled with golf, laughter, and perhaps a few too many beers.  Evy was known for her loving, outspoken, and sassy personality. She was stubborn in the best way possible and a fierce competitor at cribbage and poker. She embraced life with open arms, always ready for the next adventure.  As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Evy’s family will gather privately to celebrate her extraordinary life. In her memory, contributions may be made to your local humane society or to M.A.D.D., causes she held dear.  Evy may have left this world, but her laughter, love, and spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her. Cheers to a life well-lived!

So very sorry Craig for you and your sisters for loss of your mother. I vaguely remember her but she was very kind. Sending prayers as you celebrate her life.
