Patricia R. Carlson, age 82, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Pat was born on September 8, 1942, in Bozeman, Montana, the daughter of Sam and Jessie Sinnema, and grew up on the family farm. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, making scrubbies, camping and traveling. Her love for travel brought her to Europe with the Metropolitan Choir and on many road trips across the country with her husband, Ken. For many years, Pat and Ken were snowbirds in Florida and Arizona. Pat loved her church family at Providence CRC and was a fiercely loyal and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy! Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 51 years, Ken.  She will be deeply missed by her children, Amy (Greg) Diekevers, Bruce Carlson, and Kevin Carlson; her grandchildren, Ryan (Angela) Bouwman, Stephanie Bouwman, Brianna Carlson, Zachary Carlson, Kaitlyn (Justin) Pepper, Hailey Carlson, and Grady Carlson; step grandchildren, Jonathon (Amanda) Diekevers, Justin (Pam) Diekevers, Matthew (Morgan) Diekevers, and Tyler Diekevers; her great grandchildren, Addilyn, Lucas, Carter, Charleigh, Aaron, Elliana, Zachary, Grayson, and Myles; her sisters, Dorothy Flikkema, Sharon VanDyken, Peggy (Roger) DeHaan; her brothers, Richard (Liz) Sinnema, Ben (Beth) Sinnema; many nieces and nephews. The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, December 9, from 4 - 7 PM, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 10, at Providence Christian Reformed Church, 7730 Eastern Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, with a visitation prior to the service from 10 - 10:45 AM.  Pastor Mark Heijerman will officiate. Interment in Winchester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Georgetown/Cambridge Manor or Corewell Health Hospice.
