Buell “Bud” Mac Foster, a cherished resident of Byron Center, MI, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Michigan Veterans Homes in Grand Rapids. Born on December 4, 1947, in Paris, Texas, to the loving parents Billy and Annie Foster, Bud lived a life full of passion and purpose, leaving behind a legacy of love. He was a devoted husband, a beloved father, a doting grandfather and great-grandfather, a caring brother, and a proud U.S. Air Force veteran. At the age of 77, he entered into eternal rest, surrounded by the love of his family. Bud is survived by his beloved wife, June Foster; his sister, Nita Canada; and his children: Wendy (Patrick) McCollum, Billy (Maridith) Foster, and Brian (Alicia) Gregory. He took immense pride in his grandchildren: Anna (Corey) Eckes, Russell Harwood, Madilyn Gregory, Rylie Ford, Alex Ford, Billy Mac Foster, Isabella Foster, Luke Gregory, and Liam Gregory. His legacy continues with his great-grandchildren: Caden Eckes, Amelia Eckes, Aurora Eckes, Alice Eckes, and Wyatt Harwood, Alexa Harwood. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Mac Foster; his mother, Annie Foster; and his nephew, Beau Canada. Bud was highly regarded for his unwavering enthusiasm and dedication to the firefighting community, which reflected his strong character and values. Bud was a second-generation firefighter at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twenty-Nine Palms, California. His heartfelt passion for helping others was a cornerstone of his life, as he always sought opportunities to make a meaningful impact on those around him. In his free time, he found solace in welding and fishing, where he cherished the peacefulness of nature. Bud often envisioned spending his final days by the tranquil waters, casting lines and sharing joyful moments with his beloved grandchildren, creating precious memories that would forever remain in their hearts. Rest in peace, Bud Foster. Your absence will be deeply felt, and you will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing you. |
