Muriel "Mert” Meyer October 14, 1934 - April 18, 2025 It is with deep sorrow and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived that we announce the passing of Muriel "Mert" Meyer, who passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the age of 90. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Her kindness and unwavering support made a lasting impact on everyone she met. Born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, Mert’s spiritual faith was the cornerstone of her life. She dedicated much of her time to leading women’s Bible studies, and offering guidance, love, and compassion to those around her. She had a rare ability to listen deeply while bringing counsel and comfort to friends and family who sought her guidance. As a mother to three children, she decided to enroll in beauty school to provide for her family. She created a warm, welcoming salon in her home, where she not only provided hair care but also became a trusted friend and confidant to many. In her late 30s, Mert’s health journey began, which would later become a central focus of her life. She was committed to improving her health, which eventually led to a passion for helping others prioritize their well-being. Mert became a respected leader and mentor to many, inspiring those around her with her dedication and compassion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; parents, Harry and Christine Aardsma; and sisters, Grace Menninga and Lois Wiersum.
