Geraldine "Gerrie" D. (Newell) Rose, age 87, of Grand Rapids, MI was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, surrounded by her family.  Gerrie loved spending time with her family, and she enjoyed taking care of her plants and reading.  She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Irving Rose; brother, Charles Newell; and sister, Elizabeth Walters.  Gerrie will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 68 years, Ronald; children, Tonya Rose, Alan and Susan Rose, James Rose, Holly Rose; grandchildren, Sarah and Paul Cohn, Nick and Danielle Rose, Timothy Rose, Kassandra and Justin Monaweck, Stephen Rose, Samuel Rose; great-grandchildren, Myla, Flynn, Avery, and Michael; many nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, from 5 to 7 pm at Stroo Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, August 6, at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508, with a one-hour visitation prior to the service from 10 - 11 am.  Monsignor William Duncan, officiating.  Interment will be in Kent Memorial Gardens.  Memorial contributions in memory of Gerrie may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
